Student Ambassador Program
Blue Aces Student Ambassador Leadership Program
What is a Student Ambassador?
Student Ambassadors are key representatives of East High School, serving as the institution's face and embodying the spirit of leadership, service, and academic excellence. This prestigious program offers students an opportunity to develop essential skills in leadership, communication, and college and career readiness, preparing them to become community leaders beyond high school.
Selection Process
Our Student Ambassadors are selected through a rigorous process that includes nomination by Alpha Counselors based on grades, character, communication skills, and enthusiasm. Recommended students are then interviewed by the College and Career Center (CCC) and current Student Ambassadors. This process ensures that selected Ambassadors represent East High with integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
Roles & Responsibilities
Student Ambassadors provide essential support to East High and the CCC by:
- Conducting tours for new students, faculty, and visiting families.
- Assisting peers with FAFSA, college, job applications, and interviewing.
- Marketing CCC events and information on social media.
- Maintaining updated college and job boards for peers.
- Leading, organizing, and volunteering for CCC events (e.g., Apply Kansas, FAFSA assemblies, Blue Carpet Senior Gala).
- Contributing a minimum of 40 volunteer hours annually.
- Help with managing the Student Ambassador Leadership Scholarship and serve as a committee member. This includes participating in all fundraising efforts.
- Presenting in classrooms both individually and with Ms. Kennedy.
- Supporting administration with their tasks and/or events as requested.
- Enrolling in a Leadership Skills class and attending weekly meetings, including Ace Time.
Through these activities, Ambassadors develop project management, public speaking, and community engagement skills, making them valuable contributors to East High’s mission.
