The 2008 Do-Over Scholarship
Description: The 2008 Do-Over Scholarship. Five students will receive a $1000 scholarship. Willners will be chosen based on their responses (250 worlds or less) to the igven topic: "If you were given one 'do-over,' would you (a) use it for yourself: (b) given it to another person (c) choose not to use it? Please explain your choice."

Wichita Area Technical College Scholarships
Description: 70 scholarships will be made available to Sedgwick County graduates of 2008. These scholarships will be applied to programs that begin July 7 on a first-come first-served basis. Abner Val Jean & Erma J. Jackson Memorial Scholarship
Description: The Jackson's believed in helping the children of the community and that is what this scholarship is about. The applicant should have aspirations of teaching, business and/or entrepreneurship as part of his/her future.

Description: The recipient of the Van Leu/Cole Memorial Scholaship should have an interest in pursing a major in Business or any area of the medical field.

KSU Edgerley-Franklin Urban Leadership Scholarship
Description: Scholars will have academic and social experiences to encourage successful careers in law, public policy, educaion, journalism, business, etc. Preference for this scholarship will be given to first-generation college student from metro areas.

UTW Scholarship
Description: Two letters of recommendations are required; one in regard to character and leadership. the letter can be from a teacher, counselor, coach, other school personnel or community contact. The other, in regard to academics, must be from a current year teacher in an academic field. The applicant must be a dependent of a United Teachers of Wichita member.

Description: This is a one year only scholarship available to students pursuing degrees in vocal and instrumental music at one of the Regents schools in Kansas.

CHCI Scholarship Program
Description: The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute is currently accepting applications for its scholarship program. The program funds college courses for Latino students with a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities, who plan to continue contributing to society in the future.

Columbia College Scholarship Day Competition
Description: The Scholarship Day competition includes a writing excercise and a personal interview with Columbia College faculty and staff. The competition is on the main Columbia College campus in Columbia, Mo.

KU Petroleum Engineering Scholarships
Description: Applicants must attend Fall 2008 majoring in Petroleum Engineering. Apply to KU requesting financial aid by December 1, 2007. There is a shortage of Petroleum Engineers--the starting salary is averaging $85,000, often with a $15,000 signing bonus.
