Sheet Metal Workers
Taught by Don Vaughn Inc.
Sheet metal workers cut and mold sheets of metal into products used for
installing and repairing ventilation and air ducts. They also construct
aluminum siding, metal roofing, and gutters. These workers must have
knowledge of mathematics, blueprint reading, and drafting. They must be able
to use hand and power tools such as brakes, plasma cutters, shears, snips
and training. Wages range from $7 to $22 per hour.
HVAC Technicians
Taught by Don Vaughn Inc.
HVAC technicians install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilating, and air
conditioning systems. These systems allow people to control the air
temperature, humidity, and pressure inside structures. Different kinds of
HVAC systems include furnaces, air conditioners, chillers, and boilers.
Technicians can specialize within the trade. HVAC technicians must be able
to understand the operating principals of different systems and to interpret
written specifications. Wages range from $7 to $26 per hour.
Plumbers
Taught
by Don Vaughn Inc.
Plumbers install piping systems that distribute water and remove waste from
buildings. These systems include those connected to washers, bathtubs,
sinks, toilets, and heating and cooling systems. Plumbers must know about
water distribution, including how to determine the source of water flow and
its anticipated water pressure level. They should be familiar with blueprint
reading, local ordinances or regulations, mathematics, mechanical drawing,
physics, welding and soldering. Wages range from $7 to $22 per hour.
Pipe Fitters
Taught
by Don Vaughn Inc.
Pipe fitters design and install various piping systems in most industrial and
commercial structures. The types of piping systems include hot water,
sprinkling, air, lubricating, and heating and cooling. Pipe fitters work with
different piping materials and installation tools. They must know state and
local regulations regarding their work. Pipe fitters generally learn their
trade through craft and apprenticeship programs, whit last about five years.
These programs include classroom training and on the job training. Wages
range from $7 to $26 per hour.
Roofers
Taught
by Buckley Roofing Co.
Roofers have many leadership opportunities with and average of 5 to 1 ratios

methods have dramatically improved working conditions. Most products install
without the use of hot asphalt making working conditions safe and clear.
Projects are generally short in duration and offer immediate satisfaction on
a job well done. Wages range from $7 to $18 per hour.

cranes. Operators solve complex problems using basic math and trigonometry
to calculate safe loading and working capacity. Wages range from $20 and up
per hour.
Electricians
Taught
by Ziegler Electric
Electricians layout, install and test electrical service and wire systems
that provide heat, light, power, air conditioning and refrigeration, fire
alarms, and security systems. They install conduit and connect electrical
