Description: Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a career and technical student organization for students enrolled in or previously enrolled in a Family and Consumer Sciences course. We focus on community service projects that emphasize support of the family unit, leadership development, workplace skills and competitive events. FCCLA is co-curricular with Family and Consumer Sciences classes.

Description: Interact is a high school branch of Rotary International. Interact is a student-run club that fosters volunteer service and global awareness. Students have recently participated in various activities such as windmills for peace and sponsoring school children in Haiti.

International Youth Aid

Description: IYA is a student-run organization whose goal is to improve the condition of children not only in Third World nations but wherever there are issues concerning the health, safety and education of children. By conducting fund raising activities the club is able to help organizations such as Doctors Without Borders and contribute to local tragedies such as the Greensburg tornado relief.

Description: Kitty Hawk Air Society is a JROTC version of the National Honor Society. It concentrates on community service and community involvement. Students must be enrolled in JROTC.

Latino Club

Description: Latino Club has four goals: 1) to learn about and share Latino culture, 2) to develop leadership skills and further educational opportunities, 3) to serve the community through a variety of projects, and 4) to have fun. Each year we produce the Multicultural Assembly, a showcase for traditional performance arts from many of the diverse cultures at East. The money raised from this assembly goes to a scholarship fund for participating East High seniors. While most of our members are native Spanish speakers, any student at East is welcome to join us.

Model United Nations

Description: Model UN is a United Nations simulation where delegations of students represent a particular country, research issues that affect that country, create appropriate resolutions for debate, and attend conventions where the delegations from numerous schools represent their countries in simulated UN session debates.

National Art Honor Society

Description: This club is interested in supporting the visual arts by volunteering for community service with various arts organizations in the area, working with arts and elementary school students and attending events at local and regional art museums and galleries.

National Honor Society

Description: Only Juniors and Seniors may belong to NHS, and membership is by application and approval. Students must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and complete at least 15 hours of community service per month, in our approved service projects.
